Diverse Training Formats for Comprehensive Learning

The VCN online platform offers a multi-faceted approach to education, catering to different learning preferences and operational needs. Members can engage with two primary types of training opportunities:

  • Professional Training Modules: Designed for individual learning, these online modules provide in-depth instruction on a specific subject, allowing users to learn at their own convenience. This format is ideal for training new hires, upskilling existing personnel and targeting specific areas for improvement.

  • Audit Lunchtime Seminar Series: These resources are available in PowerPoint format and are intended for group settings, often presented by a Vitro auditor during on-site visits. The materials are also available for download, allowing teams to conduct their own internal training sessions.

A Curriculum Focused on Technical Mastery

The VCN training curriculum addresses the most critical aspects of glass fabrication and handling. Key areas of study include:

  • Insulating Glass (IG) Technology: IGU construction, from basic components to the nuances of achieving high-quality sealant application and overall unit integrity.

  • Glass Cutting and Processing: Scoring and breakout, fissure depth and the relationship between wheel angle and pressure to achieve superior edge quality.

  • Coatings and Performance: Evaluation methods, hard-coat vs. soft-coat low-e coatings and advanced topics like magnetron sputtered vacuum deposition (MSVD).

  • Safety and Handling: A strong emphasis is placed on safety protocols, mitigating risk and ensuring a safe working environment.

The Value of Continuous Professional Development

As VCN audit score comparisons demonstrate, facilities that consistently engage with on-site and online training achieve significantly higher performance metrics.

By leveraging these detailed modules and expert-led seminars, your organization can enhance its technical proficiency, improve final product quality and empower your team to meet the industry's most demanding challenges with confidence and expertise.
