Get to Know Vitro: Johnny Lorigan

Posted by Vitro Architectural Glass on Jul 20, 2026 12:30:03 PM

For Johnny Lorigan, stepping into a new role is about more than getting up to speed. It’s about building relationships, staying curious and bringing a fresh perspective to a highly technical space.

Johnny Lorigan

As Vitro’s new Product Manager for Float Glass and Specialty MSVD, Johnny brings a chemistry background, a collaborative mindset and more than 10 years of experience to the job.

A Strong Technical Foundation

Johnny earned a degree in chemistry from Penn State Behrend and has a deep expertise in science including polymers, petroleum-based products, nutraceuticals and industrial printing.

Before joining Vitro, Johnny held roles in R&D, product development and product management. Over time, she realized she wanted a role that would keep her close to science while also giving her more opportunities to collaborate across teams and connect with customers.

“I wanted to keep that technical side of things,” Johnny said, “but also interact more with customers and different groups inside the organization.”

A Day in the Life

Since joining the team, much of Johnny’s time has been spent training alongside Wendy Carroll, whose nearly 40 years of experience have made her a respected leader and mentor.

Johnny has been in a very rigorous seven-week training program with Wendy and has also enjoyed discovering just how much science is behind glass. “I’m learning a ton, and I love to learn something new,” said Johnny.

Bringing Her Perspective

Johnny also brings an important perspective to the role as a woman in a male dominated industry.

Early in her career, she said many leadership environments felt very male-centered, but she’s seen encouraging progress, especially as more companies make an intentional effort to support and develop women for leadership positions.

“I’m proud to bring my perspective to the table, and I’ve always believed that respect comes from showing up, doing the work and contributing in a meaningful way,” she said.

Outside the Office

When she isn’t learning the ins and outs of architectural glass, Johnny is a proud animal lover and mom to three cats. She also enjoys volunteering for animal-focused causes, spending time with family and attending Pittsburgh sporting events with friends, especially hockey games.

Looking Ahead

Johnny is excited to continue growing in her role and helping support the innovation and collaboration that moves Vitro forward. She may be new to the team, but she’s ready to make her mark.
