Meet Heather Brion
Director, Architectural Development, U.S., Vitro Architectural GlassHeather Brion. Problem solver. She’s never shied away from a challenge in her three-plus years at Vitro. In fact, she relishes the opportunity to lead the charge against complex issues and provide process-oriented solutions for improvement.
“When there’s a problem, we must try to come up with a solution or create a process, whatever that might be, so it sets us up for success,” said Brion. “And seeing those solutions end in success for our customers has been most rewarding.”
Brion recalled a recent process improvement that stemmed from an analysis of the project opportunities that her group was sending to fabricators. Thanks to teamwork, input from fabricators and a systematic approach, the team was able to implement a much more qualitative process.
“Through our evaluation, we discovered that the leads being sent to fabricators were more quantity than quality,” Brion said. “We’ve totally revamped this process so that the leads include important details like awarded general contractors and bidding glaziers, which allows fabricators to quickly act on them. Hearing feedback from fabricators is invaluable to our efforts. Please continue to review your leads and let us know how we can improve the process.”
Brion attributes these major wins to Vitro’s team-first mentality and referenced collaboration and camaraderie as the key components to success. She also emphasized the importance of speaking up when issues arise, and expressed gratitude to Vitro leadership for listening to employee’s questions, concerns and needs.
“I’ve never been this happy in my career, and I know the reason is because I am heard,” said Brion. Whether it’s an issue that needs to be addressed, or a proactive thought or idea aimed at improving processes, Vitro listens. They’ve been very good at not only investing in our people, but also our equipment and operations. It makes you want to continue pushing for the company to be better, the team to be better and for me to be better.”
Outside of the office, Brion loves taking in nature; and mountain biking, snowboarding and skiing are her favorite activities. She and her husband, Jeremy, reside in Golden, Colorado. The couple has one daughter, Skye, a freshman at the University of Kansas, and one son, Chase, a senior at Golden High School. The family also has two Portuguese Water Dogs, Cali and Jax.
Whether you want to talk about the outdoors, or how to improve the qualitative lead process, Brion welcomes conversation. She believes that communication is key to successfully identifying and solving any issue and encourages you to reach out to her at: hbrion@vitro.com or (303-588-4245) if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions.
